Josh is to be commended for his efforts in growing the game and providing an outstanding opportunity for the youth of Southern California. As a PGA Professional, he has embraced the mission of all professionals in growing the game and enhancing the lives of those connected to the game. The juniors he works with adore him, their parents respect him, and his colleagues within the PGA commend him.

Josh Alpert is the definition of what golf should be about: passionate, hardworking, optimistic, encouraging, basically everything you need to be successful! Through the Mira Costa golf program we experienced the mental side of the game which Josh has captured through one of his programs. Josh’s commitment and passion is why his students have been so successful. He has truly evolved junior golf in the South Bay!
Good Swings Happen has been the exclusive training partner for the American Martyrs School Mustang Golf Team since November, 2009. Over the past four years, Good Swings Happen has trained scores of American Martyrs Student Golfers at fair and affordable rates. It’s been rewarding to see our participating student golfers benefit from learning golf rules, etiquette and improving their technical skills in preparation for competing in seasonal CYO Golf Tournaments. Best of all, Josh Alpert and his talented team of PGA Professionals and instructors have helped our Mustang Golf Team realize our primary goal of building camaraderie, sportsmanship and a genuine love of the game.
“Golf has been a positive factor in my own life, and my wife and I were very much impressed when we attended our first “Good Swings Happen” event led by Josh Alpert. All the events, clinics, and tournaments led by the GSH team have been a terrific combination of three things: Brimming enthusiasm, super organization, and passionate education on the lessons of life that golf can teach. The energy for these three important factors comes from Josh, who is personally involved in the oversight of GSH, and he takes great pride in all aspects of the organization. While I expected my golf crazy son to thrive within GSH, it was a great surprise when our daughter became enthusiastic about the game after attending a GSH camp. Hoorah for GSH and what it has done for kids — it is inspiring to see a well managed organization run by a thoughtful and enthusiastic leader!”
I started working with Josh at the age of 11 or 12. He has really helped my game evolve over the years. Josh teaches sound fundamentals and keeps things very simple, that is what I like most about our lessons.
The Good Swings Happen jr. golf programs are truly unique. Fun is the common ingredient but approaches are adaptable to be equally valuable to all levels from the youngest beginners to the more seasoned elite junior golfers. Josh and his team have developed creative methods that go far beyond traditional instruction teaching only swing mechanics. GSH students become emersed in the “culture of golf” and this is what truly builds character in our young people.
I have been a student of Josh and Good Swings Happen for the past 4 years now. Josh’s teaching abilities are through the roof. His philosophy is very simple; good posture, good balance, rhythm and let everything flow. Because of Josh and Good Swings Happen, I was able to get a full ride scholarship to Cal State Long Beach. None of this would have been possible if not for his coaching and I am now chasing my dream of becoming a professional golfer. Thank you for all the hard work we put in at The Lakes and helping to turn my dream into a reality.
Josh Alpert has put together a program that doesn’t exist anywhere else. Middle school aged, serious, golfers usually have to wait until they are in high school to be allowed the opportunities that Josh and Good Swings Happen provide. My son’s respect and understanding of the sport has increased and his overall game has improved since working with Josh. We are very pleased with the direction he is taking the youth he works with.
